The Tree Tender program educates and empowers citizens to take care of their local trees. By becoming a Tree Tender, you will:

  • Learn tree planting, care, and maintenance

  • Facilitate tree distributions

  • Lead volunteers in planting projects

PLAY Golf Tournament

Save the date and get your soil ready for some trees! This is a fantastic opportunity for community members to get FREE trees and contribute to our collective efforts of growing the urban canopy! The giveaway is first come-first served, no pre-registration necessary.

  • Free while supplies last!

  • The giveaway trees are small and will take some attention and care. The Tree Trust will share resources on how to tend to them as they grow and adapt to our Colorado climate.

Join PLAY Boulder at our annual golf tournament fundraiser, where new and seasoned players can bond over a shared love of the game. This event offers an opportunity for team-building and client appreciation.

Tree Pruning Workshop

January 27, 2025 | Valmont Bike Park

Become a neighborhood tree champion! Tree Tenders are given the tools to plant and care for trees in their own communities. This event is free and open to the public. Learn all about tree pruning and winter care in this workshop hosted by the PLAY Boulder Foundation's Tree Trust, City of Boulder Forestry, and Cool Boulder. This is a chance to learn hands-on and ask an expert in your community!

Girls Lead for Life

February 4- April 22, 2025 | Movement Boulder

Girls Lead For Life is a FREE weekly after-school climbing program for 6th-12th grade girls.

Over the course of 10 sessions, instructors use climbing as the vehicle to deliver a curriculum that opens access to social support, cultivates resilience, and addresses mental health challenges commonly faced by adolescent girls and nonbinary youth. 

No prior climbing experience is necessary. Transportation provided.
